It all started a week ago Sunday.. I had noticed Milton wincing when he would get up...that slowly progressed to a meow... This was on a Sunday so I made the decision to wait until Monday to take my lil guy to the vet. So Monday rolls around and there is no improvement.. I get to the vet and after his exam I am told he has a "sprained left knee" So Milton gets a steroid injection into his right hip. As the week goes by Milton is barely limping and seems to be making progress.Until a week later.......
The morning starts out as normal... I get up and get ready for work with my usualy audience of Milton and Tinker.. (Gunner is just too involved with his dad to care about make-up) I go to work for the day and when I get home things seem to be normal... I have my usual greeting of meows and woofs when I walk in the door. In the midst of making muffins I notice Milton laying in the middle of the living room watching his sister and I. Tinker as usual sees Milton laying down and was on her way to join him when it happened......Tinker get within 1 foot of Milton and he is hissing and growling.... Im shocked becuase I have never heard Milton hiss or growl like that.. Thinking that something is really wrong I walk over to Milton and get ready to pick him up and WHAM I get all of his front claws in my hand... Again I am stunned... This is not my cute little cuddle bug... What has happend to my kitten....I frantically dial the vet..They tell me to bring him in...
So I wrap my sweater around Milton just long enough to get him in his carrier. Rushing him to the vet all I hear is his low throat meow....It's heart breaking... Im told I will need to leave Milton for the vet to sedate him and take x-rays. I should be able to pick him up after bit I'm told. That's when I get the phone call........
